GEARING UP FOR THE BIG DAY !!!

If you haven't guessed, if you don't know, I am Irish to the core. My name, Patricia Ann, is Irish.

My Mother and her family were true Irishmen. Mom's family immigrated from Ireland in the early 1800's. My heritage includes Burn's, Clark's, Enright's, and Kennedy's. Now, you can't get any more Irish than that !!!

When Mom and Dad were alive, Dad always bought Mom three green carnations for St. Patty's Day !! Now my husband does the same for me !! Now that's an Irish tradition.

It is true, when Irish eyes are smiling, you can feel the warmth of spring and hear the angels sing !!

MARCH

Hear the madcap March winds run,
Bent on gay and boisterous fun:
Laughing, whistling, blustering, swirling.
Shrieking, blowing, twisting, whirling;
Rushing with a threatening roar,
Rattling casement, banging door;
Shaking, waking flower and tree.
Running wide and high and free;
Calling, shouting far and near;
"Wake up ! Wake up ! Spring is here ! :

LAW OF THE GARBAGE TRUCK

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.

We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car

jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and

missed the other car by just inches !

The driver of the other car whipped his head around and

started yelling at us.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy.

And I mean, he was really friendly.

So I asked, 'why did you just do that'?

This is when my taxi driver taught me what

I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck".

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks.

They run around full of garbage, full of frustration,

full of anger, and full of disappointment.

As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it

and sometimes they'll dump it on you.

Don't take it personally.

Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.

Don't take their garbage and spread it to

other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not

let garbage trucks take over their day.

Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets...

Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.

Life is ten percent what you make it,

and ninety percent how you take it.

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD

O.K. I know I previously posted this song on my blog , but this version is so wonderful and heartwarming. This is a song the warms my heart and makes me happy. This version made me think, wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone got along like the little animals in this video. It would be a wonderful world, wouldn't it. Thanks Judi for sending this to me.

VALENTINE'S

Valentine's Day is a day of love,
For showing that we care,
And if we read the Bible,
God describes love there.
If we speak like celestial angels
From heaven up above,
All our words mean nothing
If we don't have Christian love.
Love is patient, love is kind;
It doesn't brag or boast;
Love conquers pride and envy;
It is never self-engrossed.
Love is not rude or angry;
Forgiveness counters wrong;
Love stays away from evil;
It sings a truthful song.
Love is full of trust and hope;
It always perseveres;
Love never fails; It's faithful
To the Bible it adheres.
And if you give this kind of love
To your special Valentine,
You'll be loving right in harmony
With God's own sweet design.
