There are 1,644,987 people in the U.S. named the first name Patricia.

There are 24,438 with my last name.

These are 132 with my first and last name.

AUTUMN IN MONTANA

COME LITTLE LEAVES, SAID THE WIND ONE DAY....

COME OVER THE MEADOW WITH ME AND PLAY...

PUT ON YOUR DRESSES OF RED AND GOLD...

SUMMER IS GONE, AND THE DAYS GROW COLD...

Every year in the fall, my sister Sandra would visit our Mother who lived in Helena, Montana.
My sister would take long walks in Helena and along the way she would stop and gather beautiful leaves, and recite this little poem to herself. This is for my sister...may your heart and mind always go back to Helena in the fall....and to the wonderful smells from Mama's house.

ENLIGHTENED PERSPECTIVE

These were all written by Andy Rooney, a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words.

I've learned...that the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned...that when you are in love, it shows.

I've learned...that just one person saying to me 'you've made my day!' makes my day.

I've learned...that having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I've learned...that being kind is more important that being right.

I've learned...that you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned...that I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in any other way.

I've learned...that no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned....that sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned...that simple walks with my mother around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned...that life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned...that we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I've learned...that money doesn't buy class.

I've learned...that it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned...that under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned...that to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned...that love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned...that the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter that I am.

I've learned...that everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I've learned...that no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned...that life is tough, but I am tougher.

I've learned...the opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned...that when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned...that I wish I had told my parents that I loved them just one more time before they passed away.

I've learned...that one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've learned...that a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned...that when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, you're hooked for life.

I've learned...that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned...that the less time I have to work with, the more things I can get done.

ANOTHER LOOK INTO THE LIFE.......

MENTAL ILLNESS

I just happened on this poster on a site I was visiting. It was posted by Mrs. America. To me this is a wonderful reminder that mental illnesses are real, and should be treated as any other illness is TREATED. Congress has just recently passed parity for mental illness, and this is a huge step for people to access the best care. Mental illness is a brain disease. The only difference is, when a person is diagnosed with cancer, diabetes, etc., people do rush to the person's home with a casserole and offers for help. This does not happen for families with mental illness. Mental illness is a very lonely disease for the person diagnosed and also for their family.

TWO PENNIES

If a man has two pennies he should buy a loaf of bread with one, which will sustain his live... and

A flower with the other..which will give him a reason to live.

FUNNIEST VIDEO EVER !!!

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE - Live Search Video

This is without a doubt, the funniest spoof video I have watched in a long time during this presidential campaign. If and when we get to the point when all the seriousness overshadows the levity, then we are in trouble. I am still laughing......enjoy !!!

FYI....I did watch the debate this past Wednesday night......and yes, there are serious issues....but to me the issue of "Joe the Plumber" borders on the ridiculous when the economy is down, mental health issues need to be addressed, the war in Iraq is costing this country billions of dollars, but the most important thing is our veterans coming back with post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injuries, neck and back problems, and a myriad of other issues. Senior citizens who have worked all their lives, saved for a rainy day, and the young people who contribute to their 401-K accounts, are seeing their retirement income disappearing before their eyes. Families are being displaced because of the housing scandal, and the "fat cats" have waltzed away with the Golden Parachute payments, never being held accountable for their actions. These are serious issues that need to be addressed......

" HAPPY FALL TO YOU "

From one pumpkin to another !!!
A woman was asked by a co-worker, 'What is it like to be a Christian?'
The co-worker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin .'
God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.'
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'

FINANCIAL WARNING

  • Normally I would avoid discussing any advice regarding buying or selling of stocks, but I felt this is important enough to share and warn you since this explosive situation might prove to be yet another ENRON !!
Please review any holdings you might have in the following stocks:
American Can
Interstate Water
National Gas Company
Northern Tissue Company
  • Due to uncertain market conditions, I advise you to sit tight on your American Can, hold your Water, and let go of your Gas. You might be interested to know that Northern Tissue touched a new bottom today, and millions were wiped clean.

It's a tough market out there. Be careful !!!

STOCK MARKET, STOCK MARKET

Stock market, stock market
We're down on our knees;
You've got to recover
We're begging you please.
We've gotten used to easy cash
My husband and I had quite a stash.
Stock market, stock market
please go higher
If you crash, we will never recover.

LET IT BEGIN WITH ME

This is a song the resonates in my mind all day. I wonder why, with the way the world is going, if this wouldn't be a good point to start with at turning things around. I am concerned about my children, grandchildren and great-grand children's future. If each of us would adopt this philosophy, every day of our lives, we could turn the direction the world is taking. Maybe it is simplistic, but would it be worth a try !!!!

ADD A LITTLE BEAUTY TO YOUR LIFE

What sunshine is to flowers...

Smiles are to humanity....

FOUR THINGS YOU CANNOT RECOVER

What a good reminder how fragile life really is, and what is so very important in our daily lives.

Did anyone tell you how important you make others feel?

Did anyone ever tell you how sometimes your smile makes them feel?

Did anyone ever tell you how much they like you?

Did anyone ever tell you how they value you as a person?

This was received by a very dear friend of mine. We worked together for years.

OCTOBER

Where are you going, my children?
Down autumn's leaf-strewn lanes
To find Jack Frost who tiptoed by
And touched our windowpanes.
I see storm windows that must be hung,
You see frost tracings in early sun.
I see the leaves to be raked in a mound,
You see tumbling mats on the ground.
Where are you going, my children?
Just down the road a way
To see the tree where the owl sits
And a field where rabbits play.
I see small boots to be marked and mated,
You see a world newly decorated.
Oh, let me come with you down that land
And see October as a child again.

NATIONAL DAY FOR PRAYER FOR MENTAL ILLNESS RECOVERY AND UNDERSTANDING

We light the candle of TRUTH that God will help us dispel ignorance and misinformation about major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, severe anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder.
We lit the candle of HEALING that troubled minds and hearts, broken lives and relationships might be healed.
We light the candle of UNDERSTANDING that the darkness of stigma, labels, exclusion and marginalization might be dispelled for the sake of those touched by mental illness
We light the candle of HOPE for persons and families living with mental illness, for better treatment, for steadier recovery, for greater opportunity to work and serve.
We light the candle of THANKFULNESS for compassionate, dedicated caregivers and mental health professions; for new discoveries in brain research and better medications.
We light the candle of FAITH to dispel doubt and despair for those who have lost hope and are discouraged.
We light the candle of STEADFAST LOVE to remind us of God's love and faithfulness, and to remind us to share the light of love and service for those living with mental illness.

MY STORY

We all get heavier as we get older because there's a lot more information in our heads. So I'm not fat..I'm just really intelligent and my head couldn't hold any more so it started filling up the rest of me.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it !!
HAVE A WONDERFUL, RAINY SATURDAY !!
