TRY TO REMEMBER

Yes, December is here now...but it is a settling time of the year when we can look back and remember how beautiful the other seasons are. December is the time of the year when we can look forward to the upcoming spring, flowers and budding trees. It is a comforting time of the year, which causes us to reflect on life, and celebrate the birth of Jesus. What a gift the seasons are to all of us.

DECEMBER

Drifting downward through the sky, comes the glistening snow;
Floating, whirling, twirling by, down to earth below.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, large and small, far as eye can see,
Happy children, one and all, into the snowflakes flee !!

THANKSGIVING ALL YEAR

Oh, God, when I have food, help me to remember the hungry;

When I have work, help me to remember the jobless;

When I have a warm home, help me to remember the homeless;

When I am without pain, help me to remember those who suffer;

And remembering, help me to destroy my complacency and bestir my compassion.

Make me concerned enough to help, by word and deed, those who cry out
for what we take for granted.

EVENING PRAYER

This is one of my very favorite songs....it says so much .....

ANGELS AMONG US

Make yourself familiar with the angels..
and behold them frequently in spirit;
for without being seen,
they are present with you..

VETERANS DAY 2008

REMEMBER THIS.......
It is the veteran, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the veteran, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the veteran, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the veteran, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to assemble.

It is the veteran, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the veteran, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.

It is the veteran, who salutes the Flag, who serves under the Flag, whose coffin is draped by the Flag.

This is dedicated to all the Veterans who have served our country, past and present, which includes my Father, Husband, Son-In-Law, Grandsons and Granddaughter, my Uncle Francis, and my Great Uncle Patrick. My God smile down on you...

WHEN PRETTY THINGS GET BROKEN

My life was just like china
a lovely thing to me,
Full of porcelain promises
of all that I might be.
But fragile things do slip and fall
as everybody knows.
Ane when my life came crashing down
thoses tears began to flow.
But Jesus is no porcelain Prince,
His promises won't break,
His Holy Word holds fast and sure,
His love no one can shake.
So if your life is shattered
by sorrow, pain or sin
His healing love will reach right down
and make you whole again.

NOVEMBER

November is a lonely waif
With wistful wide-eyed ways.
Subdued by the flamboyance of
The bright October days.
And feeling very small before
December's sparkling glance
Never mind, November, twirl
Your tattered skirts and dance.
Dance a bittersweet ballet
With the leaves that fly away !!
